College Fiscal Services
Our Mission: To provide timely and accurate financial information and personnel services.
What We Do: The Office of College Fiscal Services oversees fiscal and personnel activities at
De Anza College.
Martin Varela, the director of College Fiscal Services, is responsible for budget analysis, De Anza
Associated Student Government (DASG) accounts, part-time faculty payroll and personnel.
Varela, who has been with the Foothill-De Anza Community College District for 27 years, is a Foothill College alumni. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in management, finance and managerial accounting, and a minor in management information systems, from Menlo College. He has held several positions at the district including senior accountant and interim assistant controller/accounting manager, and was acting director of budget and personnel at De Anza.
