Before the meeting was called to order, Schafer-Braun announced the untimely death of long time De Anza faculty member Mike Gervasonni in an automobile accident. There will be several memorial services including one in Conference Room B, Thursday, November 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. [NOTE: as per Mike's family's wishes, the service at De Anza was later cancelled.]
The meeting was called to order at 2:35, a quorum being present.
I. Approval of Agenda and Notes: The Agenda was approved as distributed. The notes of October 18th were approved as distributed.
II. Needs and Confirmations: Illowsky told the group that they could finally cross the Professional Relations Committee off of the list of those committees with vacancies. The rest of the list of needs distributed in the agenda packet remained intact. Dina Poggi was confirmed for service on the Professional Relations Committee. Mary Ellen Goodwin was confirmed for service on the Bookstore Taskforce. There was no new Tenure Review Committees spreadsheet to distribute so Illowsky read the names of those proposed aloud. Melinda Hughes was confirmed for service on the Jefferson Shirley committee and Rich Wood was confirmed for service on the Ameeta Tiwana committee, replacing Tisa Abshire-Walker.
III. Other Stuff for the Good of the Order: Nothing to report.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:50 p.m. in preparation for a joint senates meeting at 3:00 p.m.
