Course Description
This course surveys the international development of the motion picture since 1950 as a distinct form of artistic expression, through classic films, notable artists, and key events; investigates the aesthetic, technological, economic, and social factors that contributed to the evolution of cinematic arts; and examines the value systems reflected in and shaped by these works from diverse cultures.
