DASG De-Stress Week
The De Anza Student Government is hosting a De-Stress Week to help students relax during finals.
Stop by Conference Rooms A&B today, Dec. 1, from 1-3 p.m., for pet therapy and free boba. Tomorrow, Dec. 2, from 1-3 p.m., there will be hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies and a wishing tree in the Fireside Room. If you have questions, please email dasgevents@deanza.edu.
Sip and Paint Donors and Members Recognition Dinner this Thursday, Dec. 4
The California History Center (CHC) will hold its fourth annual “Sip and Paint” Donors and Members Recognition Dinner this Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Stop by for an evening of art, food,
wine and music. There is a suggested donation of $20.

Chamber Orchestra and Choir Performances on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7
The Music Department’s Chamber Orchestra and Choir will perform together this Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., in the VPAC. General admission is $10 and student admission is $5.
They will also perform againthis Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church of San Jose.
They will perform two masterful works of contemporary music – Terry Riley's "In C" and Craig Hella Johnson's "Considering Matthew Shepard."
“In C” is a meditative, minimalistic work that redefined modern music. “Considering Matthew Shepard” is a three-part “fusion-oratorio” that explores themes of loss and compassion in response to the tragic death of Shepard.
Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest
Submit by Friday, Dec. 19
The Black Faculty, Staff and Administrators Network (BFSA) is holding a Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest to further engage our campus community with King's legacy, vision and leadership that
inspired a nation.
Essays will be judged on creativity, clarity, content and coherence with the theme. Your essay must be in your own words; plagiarism is unacceptable, and no help from any AI source is permitted.
Please submit by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at deanza.edu/bfsa/king. More contest rules can be found on the website.
First-, second- and third-place winners will receive cash prizes and be recognized during the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in Conference Rooms A&B at on Jan. 15.
