CONNECT Is Here to Support You
Dear Student,
Welcome to De Anza! We’re excited that you are joining our vibrant college community this fall. Your success is our priority, and we’re committed to supporting you at every step along the way – whether it’s choosing the right classes, exploring career paths, planning for a certificate, degree or transfer, or simply navigating college life.
As part of this commitment, we’re introducing a new program for first-time students: If you’re not part of a Learning Community or another program that has its own counselors,
you’ll be automatically enrolled in De Anza CONNECT. Starting Monday, Sept. 22, you can see our CONNECT counselors in the General Counseling Center (RSS Building, Second Floor) for assistance with
- Adding or dropping classes
- Updating your education plan
- Tracking your progress
- Reaching your academic, career and personal goals
We’re also launching a new text messaging service featuring Roary, our AI-powered chatbot. Students in the CONNECT program will receive an introductory email on Tuesday, Sept. 23, followed by an initial text from Roary on Wednesday, Sept 24. Roary will check in periodically in coming weeks, with friendly messages to see how you're doing and connect you with helpful resources and services on campus.
