About Me
My name is Khoa Nguyen, and I serve as the Counselor/Coordinator for the Transfer Center and as a co-advisor for the De Anza Vietnamese Student Association. I have been at De Anza since 2017, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with the diverse student population here.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a master’s in Counseling from Santa Clara University, and a master's in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Walden University. From January 2017 through June 2022, I served as a Counselor/Coordinator for the Math Performance Success (MPS) Program at De Anza. This exceptional program helps students succeed in math by providing extra class time, tutoring, and counseling services. Prior to working at De Anza, I was an academic advisor and program coordinator for the Associate to Bachelor’s Program and the University Center at Cañada College.
Outside of the office, I prioritize spending quality time with my husband, Andreas, our dog, Finnick, and my family. To unwind, I lean into my creative side-whether that means interior designing, playing the piano, doing arts and crafts, arranging flowers, or decorating cakes. I also appreciate the quiet focus of reading/listening to audiobooks and working on puzzles, which I balance with my love for the outdoors through gardening, hiking, and traveling.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in exploring, planning, and achieving your academic and professional goals.
