From the President
Aaron Korngeibel — De Anza VP of Workforce Innovation & Economic Advancement
July 9, 2026
Dear College Community,
Pending approval of the FHDA Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment
of Aaron Korngeibel to the position of Vice President of Workforce Innovation & Economic
Advancement at De Anza College. In this role he will provide leadership and vision
in the development and operation of Workforce Development and Community Education
programs on and off campus, lead in the implementation of new career technical education
programs, and provide leadership to ensure the viability and integrity of career and
vocational programs.
Most recently, Aaron served as Dean of Business & Social Sciences at Foothill College,
a role he has held since 2022. At Foothill, Aaron has served as a valued member of
the College's leadership team and has played a pivotal leadership role in supporting
innovative, equity-centered curriculum and career pathways. He supported faculty in
the development of new programs including Early Childhood Education apprenticeships,
Spanish-language coursework to expand access, Pre-Law Studies Certificate pathway,
and emerging AI-focused courses in business and the humanities. He was instrumental
in Foothill’s partnership with the Felton Institute to launch the ECE REACH (Early
Care and Education, Realizing Employment and Creating Hope) initiative, a workforce
development pipeline to empower first-generation, non-traditional, and immigrant apprentices.
He also provided critical leadership for Foothill’s grant and successful designation
through California’s Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) for a
Wellness Coach certification, closing healthcare workforce gaps while strengthening
the reputation and impact of the district.
Prior to Foothill College, he served North Seattle College as Associate Dean and later
Dean of Workforce Instruction from 2017-2022. He oversaw professional technical training
programs in fields such as Business, IT, Allied Health, Early Childhood Education,
Electronics, and Engineering Graphics. He also served as a program coordinator and
instructor at North Seattle prior to moving into administrative roles.
Aaron will join De Anza as our new vice president on August 3, 2026. He was selected
for this position because of the depth and breadth of his experiences and accomplishments.
Many thanks to the hiring committee, faculty, staff, and administrators who participated
in this important recruitment.
Please join me in welcoming Aaron to the De Anza College community and its senior
leadership team.
Respectfully,
David Wain Coon, Ed.D.
Interim President
De Anza College
