VRC student reminders
Spring registration continues
- Submit your Request for Certification form as soon as you have finalized your spring schedule.
- Spring classes start Monday, April 6.
Winter quarter dates and deadlines
- March 23 is finals week! Drop by the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) for a snack.
- Feeling stressed? We can help connect you to resources. Email veteransda@deanza.edu with your full name and campus-wide ID (CWID), and tell us how we can help.
Student resources
- Free school supplies (Scantrons and more) at the VRC Student Lounge, provided by the Koret Foundation Grant
- Free printing of school materials at the VRC front desk
- Math and physics tutoring
- Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. at the VRC Student Lounge
- Additional tutoring (other subjects and hours) is offered through the Student Success Center (SSC), S34. See the Student Success Center schedule.
- Basic Needs Hub (Baldwin Winery, next to Financial Aid)
- Free groceries, toiletries, baby supplies, daily meals and more. Visit the Basic Needs Hub website.
- Student housing: the Foothill-De Anza student housing application is now open.
VRC counseling updates
Please welcome Manija Ansari back to the VRC counseling team. She is a full-time counselor with De Anza's International Student Program (ISP), and previously worked in the VRC.
Alongside Marianna Troy, Manija will be supporting VRC counseling appointments on Thursdays and Fridays via Zoom through May. Matt Floro is on parental leave and will return to us in the spring. Congrats on your growing family, Matt!

The Veteran Scholar Society (VSS)
VSS is a student-led community focused on helping military-connected students succeed academically, professionally and personally at De Anza College. VSS connects veterans to resources, mentorship, networking opportunities, and a supportive peer community that understands the transition from military to college life. Veteran job opportunities
Per diem hospice veteran support role
An opportunity for veterans who may be interested in supporting fellow veterans enrolled in hospice care. Responsibilities include:
- Presenting veterans with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their service
- Coordinating with the Veteran Liaison regarding potential Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits for service-connected injuries
- Assisting with enrollment into the VA Health Care System
- Providing information regarding VA burial benefits
Veterans are needed who could provide coverage in the following counties: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa. This opportunity may be best suited for two or more veterans within each county, to help reduce travel time and share coverage responsibilities. The role offers flexible scheduling and collaboration with the interdisciplinary hospice team. Contact: feltonderrick@fhda.edu
