May 1, 2026. Reminders for students using Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, free resources and tutoring at the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), counseling updates and this month's events.

VRC student reminders

If you are studying on VA benefits:

Student resources at the VRC

  • Food pantry: free frozen meals, snacks, coffee bar and more
  • Free school supplies (Scantrons and more) in the VRC Student Lounge, provided by the Koret Foundation Grant
  • Free printing of school materials at the VRC front desk

Tutoring

  • Math tutoring only: Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon, VRC Student Lounge
  • Math and physics tutoring: Wednesdays, 3 to 5 p.m., VRC Student Lounge
  • Additional tutoring is offered through the Student Success Center (SSC), S34. See the Student Success Center schedule.

VRC counselors Marianna Troy and Manija Ansari continue to offer in-person and online services. Matt Floro is on parental leave and will return to us later this spring.

Thurs., May 21

Memorial Day remembrance

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Foothill College, Veterans Plaza
  • Join us to remember those we have lost, and to honor their memory and contributions to our country and our community

Save the date: annual VRC End of Year and Graduation Celebration

Friday, June 26, at 4 p.m. in the Hinson Campus Center, Rooms A and B.
