VRC announcements
Priority registration
- Check your winter 2026 registration date and time in MyPortal: go to Student Registration App, then Get Date to Register.
- Email veteransda@deanza.edu if you don't have a date to register.
Registration reminders
- Nov. 14: last day to drop standard 12-week classes with a "W."
- Plan to register for the classes listed on your educational plan in Degree Works.
- Even if you think you need to make a change to your educational plan, register first, and then make an appointment to see the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) counselor. Classes fill up quickly.
- Remember: deviating from your educational plan could impact your Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits. Always update your counselor and certifying official if you want to make changes.

CalFresh application support from The Basic Needs Hub
- The Hub can help you apply for CalFresh benefits. As a student, you may qualify.
- Reach out for help or visit The Hub in the Baldwin Winery, next to Financial Aid.
- The Hub also provides at least one food source on campus each day. Drop by for a free cup of coffee!

Explore career and student opportunities at Caltrans
- Wednesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Social Sciences Village, Room L73
- An information session on current openings at Caltrans, the California Department of Transportation, including the Right of Way and Land Surveys departments
- Learn the do's and don'ts of applying for a Caltrans job, how to review a job posting, what to look for to match your skills, and tips for a successful application
- Caltrans offers hands-on experience, paid training and career growth in fields from engineering and environmental studies to administration and IT
- Student and volunteer opportunities in right of way and land surveys, accounting, business administration, computer sciences, engineering, environmental studies, geographic information systems (GIS), geography, landscape architecture, transportation planning and more
