In an age when capital can travel at will to exploit labor and natural resources, how are individuals and communities working to control their own fates?  This year’s conference will explore the role of 21st century capitalism, migration, labor, and activism in creating the new global community.

Aviva Chomsky, Keynote Speaker
Author of They Take Our Jobs! and 20 Other Myths About Immigration. She is an American historian, author, and activist. She teaches at Salem State University in Massachusetts, where she is also the coordinator of the Latin American studies program.
